People always ask me “When and how did you start doing this?”

Well, it happened one Christmas Eve.  Here is my story...

    Many years ago I went shopping for the holidays and could not find anything that would make a good gift for those I loved. The malls were crowded, parking spots scarce and I was at my wits end. I came home, annoyed and frustrated.  I sat down in my studio took a deep breath, and looked across my desk. There in a box, were a dozen frosted plain Christmas ornaments.  I picked one up, loked at it and gazed at my paints.  I had an Idea.  

    Christmas Day came! Snow was gently falling. The tree was sparkling from the lights and decorations. Our presents were stacked up neatly around the tree and in twelve little white gift boxes on top of each pile were my presents to my family. They all opened them and were surprised to see their favorite thing painted on an ornament.  My father’s fire truck, mom’s dog, and my sister’s favorite cartoon characters.  They smiled and laughed ,”Where did you get these!” they asked. I looked at them is disbelief. I was hurt, they knew I was an artist, then they saw my name. My friends and family urged me to sell them ... well, that was over 20 years ago.
